Donation FAQ

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Rock Landing Foundation is a Virginia nonstock corporation with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status pending with the IRS. Once IRS approval is received, contributions will be retroactively tax-deductible to the date our Form 1023 was filed. Donors will receive an acknowledgment letter from us, and we will provide updated documentation when our 501(c)(3) determination letter is issued. Please consult your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of your specific gift.

Where does my donation go?

All donations fund Rock Landing Foundation’s general fund, which supports our transitional residential home for young adults aging out of foster care. This includes housing, nutritious meals, vocational training (across 10 vocational tracks), mental-health counseling, life-skills programming, and the day-to-day care that makes a real home possible.

Can I cancel or change my monthly donation?

Yes — anytime. Stripe sends a receipt after every monthly charge with a link to manage or cancel your subscription. You can also email us at info@bisque-seal-208191.hostingersite.com and we’ll handle it for you within one business day.

How is my payment information protected?

All donations are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor used by millions of businesses worldwide. Your card information is encrypted end-to-end and never stored on our servers or website. Rock Landing Foundation never sees your full card number.

Will I receive a receipt?

Yes. Stripe will email you an immediate receipt confirming your gift. For tax-acknowledgment letters (once 501(c)(3) status is confirmed), we will also send a separate acknowledgment letter for any donation of $25 or more. For mailed checks, please include your email so we can send acknowledgment.

Can I donate stock, crypto, or other non-cash assets?

Yes — please reach out to discuss non-cash gifts. Email info@bisque-seal-208191.hostingersite.com and the founders will work with you and your advisor to coordinate the transfer.

Does my company offer matching gifts?

Many employers match charitable gifts dollar-for-dollar, doubling or even tripling your impact. Check with your HR or benefits team. Once Rock Landing Foundation receives its 501(c)(3) determination letter, we can provide any documentation your employer’s matching gift program requires.
