Every year, approximately 20,000 young people age out of foster care in the United States with no family, no plan, and no safety net. Within four years, half are unemployed; one in four experience homelessness. In Virginia, 900 young adults are currently in that gap.
Rock Landing Foundation is building the response: a transitional residential community combined with vocational training (culinary, construction, digital media, music recording, agriculture, healthcare basics, and entrepreneurship) and mental health support, rooted in southwest Virginia.
